ITWS showcases range at RWM 2015
A familiar name to many regular visitors, ITWS will once again have a significant presence at the UK’s leading waste & recycling show at the NEC this year. This marks the 9th appearance on the trot for the company, who will have a large range of their popular SG Revolution Super Cushion solid tyres on display.
The affordable OTR King tyre, which is the newest addition to the SG range, will be showcased to customers looking for the same puncture-free quality, but from a slightly lower grade of tyre. This is aimed at machines that aren’t operated round-the-clock, but work nonetheless in arduous environments where the threat of tyre damage is present.
Broadening their services to offer complete wheel assemblies to both standard and bespoke specifications, ITWS will have examples of full assemblies on the stand, as well as a range of high quality rims.
They are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to stand 5V50-W51.
Darran joins the team
Following a successful year in 2014 International Tyre and Wheel Solutions Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Darran Lea as UK National Sales Manager.
With a remit to grow sales of the company’s renowned SG Revolution super cushion solid tyres Darran has hit the ground running since joining the company last year. Thanks to sustained interest in the tyres from both new and existing customers he has been working with many independent and account customers looking for tyre conversions for their machine fleets.
Darran spotted the job in his local paper and decided to apply for it despite his excellent track record as National Sales Manager at his previous employer; a manufacturer of motor sports parts and office screens. He is very excited by the future prospects of working for ITWS; company that has enjoyed year-on-year growth since it started in 2005.
“I was fortunate to spot this job in my local paper. ITWS offers an excellent range of high quality tyres and operates in a stable market place. The business is extremely well managed and very responsive to customer needs and they have a really good reputation in the sector. I am confident that I can help them to create even further awareness of their products with both independent and national trade customers.”
David becomes General Manager
After 3 years working for us here at ITWS, David Miller has earned a well-deserved promotion to the position of General Manager.
Having started in 2011 as Branch Manager running our internal sales, warehousing and office operations David has mastered the business and will now add business development activities to his remit. In conjunction with ITWS agents, dealers and distributors he will be looking at existing and new market opportunities for the renowned range of SG Revolution tyres and ITWS’s wheels business.
Importance of UK market highlighted by visit to ITWS
We are delighted that Joyce Chen, daughter of the Shun Gin family, has come to the UK to spend time with us here at ITWS visiting customers.
The Shin Gun family, from Thailand, are the owners of the SG Revolution brand of tyres which they manufacture in their state-of-the-art operations in Thailand. The visit highlights the importance of the UK and European markets that are managed by ITWS on behalf of Shin Gun. Joyce is pictured with the ITWS team at the company’s facilities in Leigh, Warrington.
We’re delighted to announce the appointment of Carlo Bellocci, Assistant Manager, at ITWS.
With prime responsibility for the warehouse, stock and despatch of our tyres, Carlo joined the team last September. He’s hit the ground running and has already made a difference to our operations thanks to his extensive experience in warehousing including the latest I.T. stock systems. Carlo is also a whizz on the new Linde forklift which has a ‘Turnafork’ rotating tyre clamp with forks for moving large, heavy loads so unloading and loading tyres is now a breeze!
New range of highly cost effective tyres
From the same manufacturer as the highly popular SG Revolution super cushion solid tyres, a new range of solid tyres has been introduced by ITWS for less arduous applications and for machines that do less hours in a day.
OTR King multi-lug tyres are lower grade solids than the renowned SG Revolutions, but will still put in a good 10 hour shift each day and still offer more life and better value than the equivalent re-moulds.
Sizes include 17.5-25, 20.5-25, 23.5-25 26.5-25 which can be fitted to a wide range of mobile plant machinery, in applications such as waste & scrap metal.
With exceptionally attractive prices available it pays to buy brand new.
ITWS Tyres go on tour with the JCB Teletruk
Three JCB Teletruks completed a two week French dealer product training event during February and we’re delighted that two of the machines sported tyres from ITWS.
The machines – JCB TLT 35D 4x4’s – were fitted with ITWS MDT’s (27-10-12) to highlight the performance of the machines in arduous applications such as waste and recycling. The JCB training highlighted the puncture free capabilities of the tyres during the roadshow which went to 4 locations; Reims, Lyon, Bordeaux and Nantes. Sixteen of JCB’s French industrial dealers attended the event which was fantastic exposure for our tyres and a great launch pad in to France.
The feedback from the delegates who attended the training event was excellent and we look forward to the tyres being as popular over the border as they are here in the UK.
Manufacturer Visit to ITWS
Jimmy Lynn, SG Revolution’s Global Sales and Technical Manager, recently made a visit to the UK to visit ITWS who distribute the company’s tyres in the UK and Europe.
This was Jimmy’s first visit to the new office and warehouse premises in Leigh near Warrington. He said “I am impressed with this facility. It is a modern complex with a large warehouse that has enabled ITWS to carry even greater stocks of our tyres. ITWS already has an excellent reputation for quick service times and this helps them react even quick to customer orders.”
ITWS - tyre clamp enhances handling safety
Following the recent acquisition of a new Linde forklift for the warehouse, we’ve now taken delivery of a new tyre clamp attachment which makes the handling of tyres safer and quicker.
Our new G Series Cascade Turnafork is a clever piece of kit that doubles up as both forks and clamp. The arms rotate to the vertical position for clamping awkward loads such as tyres or to the horizontal position to handle most types of conventional pallets.
ITWS is committed to safe working practices for all staff and the clamp reduces the need for any manual handling of tyres. It’s also made the loading and unloading of deliveries far more efficient.
SG Revolution tyres ready for despatch to major waste company in Hungary
Hungarian waste company Zold Hid has chosen SG Revolution super cushion solid tyres for their brand new JCB 527-58 Loadalls; part of a larger order of JCB machines. The machines are set to handle various waste materials at the company’s recently expanded, state of the art, waste facility near to picturesque Lake Balaton, south-west of Budapest. The tyres were selected for their ability to work in arduous environments with no risk of punctures from loose or sharp objects on site. Manufactured from a special rubber compound to a solid design they minimise downtime from tyre problems because they simply keep on working even if damaged.
The tyres were ordered a sales special with the original machine order from Terra Equipment, JCB’s Central European dealer. They were delivered to the JCB factory in Rocester for assembly line fitment ready for despatch to Hungary. Les Williams, MD of ITWS, suppliers of the SG tyres across UK and Europe, is delighted at this latest order. “SG Revolution tyres are becoming increasingly popular for machines of all makes and sizes destined for the waste and recycling sector. Not only do they prevent punctures but the wear characteristics are phenomenal meaning that the lifetime value of the tyres is quite excellent. With integrated air holes designed in to the tyre they also provide a comfortable ride for the operator and help absorb shocks from rough terrain.”
Vive la France
Fantastic upturn in French business
We’re delighted to report that business is booming in France for SG Revolution super cushion solid tyres. Our dealer, Genie Civil Service, visited the ITWS warehouse and offices in November 2012 to sign an agreement giving them exclusivity in France and this has proved to be a great move for both businesses.
Genie Sales Manager, Jerome Mure, was impressed by the scope of the operation and has subsequently placed orders for some 52 tyres and 14 rims since the visit; some of which were for stock, but the majority of which have been sold to end users in a variety of applications. Both businesses are hugely optimistic about the future.
New JCB Loadall good for SG Revolution tyre sales
The launch of JCB’s largest telescopic handler to date, the JCB 550-80 Wastemaster, has benefited sales of SG Revolution Super Cushion solid tyres.
Launched in September 2012 the machine was designed for the waste and recycling sector who needed a machine with greater capacity. JCB approached ITWS to design a tyre that could be specified as a factory fit option for machines requiring a puncture free solution for work in harsh ground conditions. Sales figures pre and post Christmas have been fantastic with several sets of tyres being despatched from ITWS every week destined for the assembly line at JCB.
SG Revolution Tyres provide EMR with solution for their Scania trucks
Working on a waste site not only presents puncture problems for mobile plant and machinery, but also for trucks and wagons arriving on and off site.
Having specified SG Revolution super cushion solid tyres for their fleet of wheeled loaders for many years, EMR asked ITWS to work with them to source suitable SG tyres for their Scania truck which was also suffering from puncture problems due to the harsh site conditions. MD of ITWS, Les Williams, worked in partnership with the EMR team to provide all the relevant data to ensure the 8 wheel rigid tipper truck, which carries and moves skips, would perform equally as well as on pneumatic tyres. The truck now boasts 8 x 1000x20 SG C2 pattern tyres to the rear and 4 x 1100x20 SC8X pattern to the front of the truck. Feedback from the team at EMR has been excellent.
Another Successful Dealer Visit
The Nortire Group Directors and Sales Managers visited the ITWS head office in Lancashire in late November 2012 with a view to renew their exclusive agreement for SG tyres with ITWS for Finland and the Baltic states. Taking in a visit to the brand new warehouse and offices recently occupied by ITWS the Nortire team left impressed by the scope of the operation and particulalry with the stock levels of SG solid tyres
The agreement was signed by Managing director Jari Pulkkinen who commented that ‘the future for both companies was exciting’.
Our new warehouse interior
It’s great now we’re all under one roof.
Here are some pics of the inside of our warehouse. It’s so easy to keep tidy because we have lots of space. Let’s hope it stays that way.
ITWS achieved approval for fitment of the SG super cushion products at factory level for the WA250, WA320 & WA 380 machines with Komatsu Germany last week.
This is a result of working with Komatsu for the last twelve months supplying data and test results. Great result that should make the supply of tyres much more efficient.
Stanton Recycling opts for SG
Thu, July 26, 2012
Ilkeston based Stanton Recycling has specified SG Revolution 17.5-25 SE tyres for their brand new Merlo P55.9 which will work across the company’s diverse waste businesses.
Mick Clifton, Operations Manager, will only use these tyres on his sites. He says ‘you can just fit them and forget. That’s what all recycling sites are looking for’.
